This page lists various Palm related programs and utilities I have developped.

Palm PRC

In general, these programs have all been tested on m105, m500 and T3 models. They should be working on most of PalmOS based devices, using 3.5 and above OS version.

They have been developped on my Apple iBook (under OS X 10.2) using PRC-Tools, and tested with POSE (Palm OS Emulator, available on Palm Developement Resource site). Have a look to the zenonez.com site for more details on PRC-Tools on Mac OS X.

Metronome (v1.3) is a full featured electronic metronome. Pulse volume, frequency and duration can be adjusted on a single screen. Palm Auto-off can be disabled (for usage over long period of time) and battery status can be displayed.
This latest version offers a screen switching off option for battery power saving (only available on recent devices) and a contrast/brightness fading option.

This program works fine on Palm OS 3.5 and above. Tested on the palm M series and also on T3.

Polyedre (v1.0) does nothing really useful. Pre-defined 3D grid volumes can be rotated around two axis using up / down / left / right hard buttons. This simple program was my first attempt for using Palm SDK graphic lib and hard button management.
Rotating step can be tuned through the Preferences.

This program works fine on Palm OS 3.5 and above. Tested on the palm M series and also on T3 (the nice T3 five way navigator is supported). Requires MathLib.prc

QuarkBox (0.1) is a simulation of particles confined in a box, to observe effect of gravity on trajectories. Up to 100 particles can be added/removed using up/down hard buttons. Gravity can be tuned as in preferences.

This program requires Palm OS 3.5 or above. Color as well as Grayscale devices are supported. Requires MathLib.prc

UmtsCrunch (0.3) is a database for UMTS Release 5 specifications, the so-called 3rd generation telecommunication system. The Zip file contains a .PRC and a .PDB file which need to be both installed on the Palm.

The program allows any kind of search through the list of database entries.
The database only contains specification title and name. The documents themselves can be downloaded on the 3GPP site at www.3gpp.org

Works on any PalmOS 3.5 and above devices.

Lamp (1.2) only displays a never-ending white screen which has no value expect that it can be used as a backup lamp. At the bottom of the screen, the battery percentage level is displayed.

No parameters, no special features - excepts that UP and DOWN buttons can be used to increase/decrease brightness. Tap on the screen to exit the application.

WARNING: if run unattended, this application can drain your mobile battery, as the device auto-off is disabled. Of course, default setting are restored when leaving the application.

Palm tools for Mac OSX

The tools listed below have been developped with GCC under Mac OS X 10.2
No graphical user interface is available, as they must be launched through the "Terminal".

pdbtools (0.2) is a utility to work out .PRC and .PDB file structures.

A "parse" option present the file content, field by field, in a clear format. Only the first few bytes of each record is printed.

An "extract" option extracts a whole specific record of the file and puts it in a standalone file.

The "dump" option provides a very simple and basic hexadecimal dump.

And at last, a "create" options can be used to generate .PDB files from text files.

Program launch syntax is provided by starting the program without arguments.
